Good times are...

De-licious garlic shrimp plates from the lovely North Shore...

sneak a peek

This is a small peek into what I've been doing for the past many months.  I won't include all the details quite yet, but you can see that I've been a really busy bug...

"Kodomo No Hi"

Tomorrow, May 5th is Children's day in Japan, and here in Hawaii we celebrate this special day dedicated to the health and wellness of our children by hanging a traditional Koi fish flag in front of our house for each child in the family.  This year I wanted to make something nice yet simple for all the wonderful children in our lives just to show them how awesome they are.

I'm so excited to be back blogging & working after many hectic months... so I hope you'll join me as I regroup my creativity & create away.

xoxo,

Babysitting

I'm still here.  Well, not here-Here, but  I've been busy babysitting for a family friend of ours, so I've hardly had the time to post and do some actual "real" work around here.

One of the things that I actually DID get around to doing was for a good friend and customer of mine who makes beautiful & dainty pieces of jewelry.  She needed some new re-designed packaging, so I was very excited to work with her on getting these together...  I will post more of our project as soon as I catch the time to snap a few more pictures.

Until then...

where has summer gone?

It is hiding in the closet waiting to hibernate until next year.

The months have flown by with so much fun and chaos.  In a way I'm glad it is over, because now I can RELAX knowing that all the summer "rush" jobs are done, but I'm still kind of sad that It's gone with such a blur.

Anyway, I had promised to post some pics of my paper makings, so here is one that I enjoyed designing the most this summer.  It was definitely a PINK summer for me.  My office has been overflowing with lush shades of pink everywhere for months.

above image is of a diaper favor pouch that's supposed to be holding small chocolate candy bars, but I got to them before I had a chance to snap a quick pic ;p.  As soon as I can figure out how to post a pdf on here, I'll share the template.

well I hope you had a nice hot summer, what color was yours?

pardon me...

Please pardon my absence....
I have been away filling a few custom orders, and spending some quality time with my little girls.

Pictures to come soon!

summer showers

Hawaii + summer = rain?!

Such yucky weather going on here.  The muggy-ness, (is that a real word?), is making it so hard to concentrate on anything.  I feel so bad for all those vacationers trying to have a good time here.  So I think today I'll just sit in and gather some much needed inspiration from some of my favorite blogs.

Hopefully I'll be inspired enough to make something :)

free time/ making...

Today was my big girl Jazzi's first full day of preschool.  what to do, what to do...

so I dusted off the 'ol xacto and made some cards.
(you can see some of my older cut-out makings here and here.)

I really like how these came out, even though they are nothing compared to the gorgeous work of A Little Hut, who, I think, is the cut-out paper queen.

I think i'll try & make this into a 2-piece box. We'll see how that works out.

blossom print

This is the print that I made earlier in the week that I promised to post. I call these my 'Blossoms'.

Inspired by my grandmother and her Japanese garden.

making... BBN

Yesterday I started printing one of my new stationary lines that I like to call 'Birthday By Numbers'.

After printing the first layer (which came out great) I was so excited to print the second, but it turned out to give me a little bit of a hard time.  You can see a little more of the process here.

I plan to also get them digitally printed in the future, but for now I'm just having some fun with my gocco which I think  gives it a nice handmade touch.

The first layer.

The second layer... I am not so pleased with.

(Hopefully my next attempt will have better results.)
